Wauconda Homes
Wauconda Homes are located in the southeastern part
of Wauconda Township on the banks of a beautiful little lake which has from
earliest times been known as Bangs Lake, named in honor of Justus and Mark
Banks, the first settlers of the place. Traditions say that Wauconda was named
for an Indian Chief by that name, who is buried somewhere on the southern bank
of Bangs Lake, back of the Town Hall. The word translated from its Indian
language means “Spirit Water.” Today, the Village of Wauconda is a community
of over 10,000 residents with a diversified industrial and commercial base.
